National Jamboree Troop
Information
Tentative Itinerary for Washington DC and National Jamboree.

Troop 1825 will depart Midland at approximately 6:25 am Wednesday July
20, 2005, arriving in Baltimore at 1:20 pm.

Troop 1818 will depart Midland at approximately 8:15 am Wednesday July
20, 2005, arriving Baltimore at 3:35 pm.

Both Troops will take a private bus to the motel in Virginia where we will
check into the motel and get settled.  We will depart at approximately 5:30
pm on the metro for a Baseball game between the Washington Nationals
and the Baltimore Orioles at RFK Stadium.  We will be eating at the
stadium.

Thursday July 21, 2005 We will be having breakfast at the hotel.  We are
setup to tour the White House at 10:30 am, the Bureau of Engraving  and
the Holocaust Museum.  The afternoon will have some free time to
explore other of the Smithsonians as well as the monuments.  That
evening we will be attending the Marine Corp parade at the Arlington
National Cemetary.

Friday July 22, 2005 we will be going on the Capitol Tour and also get our
pictures taken on the Capitol steps.  We plan to meet with Congressman
Mike Conaway at this same time.  Friday afternoon we will have free time,
with the evening to be planned later.

Saturday July 23, 2005 we will be eating breakfast in the hotel, then
departing by bus for a tour of the embassies.  Our final departure that
morning will be the Udvar-Huzy branch of the National Air & Space
Museum where we will see things like the Enola Gay, a SR-71 Blackhawk,
the space shuttle, and many other historic birds of flight.  There is an
IMAX theater in the museum that is an additional cost of $8 per show, but
when one person purchases tickets to two or more shows the price drops
to $6.50 per ticket.  There are currently three shows playing.  They also
have flight simulators available.  There are also three restaurants on site,
McDonald's, Boston Market, and Donato's Pizza.  More information is

We will depart the museum at approximately 2:00 pm.  We will get back to
the hotel at approximately 3:30 pm.  We will leave for the waterfront at
about 5:30 pm for a special dinner that evening.

Sunday morning we will eat breakfast at the museum, then we will depart
by Metro to the National Cathedral where we will have church services,
possibly a tour of the Cathedral, and then attend the National Zoo that
afternoon.  We will be eating lunch at the Zoo.  We will be having pizza at
the hotel that evening, swimming at the pool, and laundering clothes.

We will be departing for the Jamboree at approximately 7:30 am by private
bus.




We will return from jamboree on August 3, 2005 at 2:05 pm arriving in
Midland at 6:55 pm.
